Youth for Youth Magazine Project

The Youth for Youthmagazine project was initiated to provide a platform for the youth in Ghana (1) to share their sexual and reproductive health (SRH) experiences, particularly in relation to teenage pregnancy, and (2) to inform fellow peers with the support of experts about SRH issues. It forms part of the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) North-South funded research project Sexual and Reproductive Resilience of Adolescents in Ghana and Tanzania.Using a participatory approach, 30 students (15-19 years) from two Secondary Schools in Accra plan, write and design the magazine with the assistance of sexual and reproductive health experts. Adolescents represent their experiences in stories, jokes and selected topics. Four editions of the magazine will be produced. Building on the high interest in the magazine, sustainable structures for continuation of the magazine are currently explored.

The magazine is available for download: Maiden Edition January 2012
